چکیده
Abstract The objective of this study was to develop and test a murine system for delivery laser interstitial thermotherapy (LITT). A built that allows stereotactic placement the into mouse brain real-time thermometry with custom-made thermometer holder. Tissue heating curves Laserglow Technologies 1064nm experiments testing tissue were performed by placing in temperature monitoring via thermal probe. adapted use frame utilizing Hamilton syringe holder consistent precise C57BL/6 mice samples analyzed H&E staining. First, ideal output established using chicken breast. Laser dial setting 4.38 successfully achieved slow while 4.43 4.50 accomplished it rapidly, reaching ablative 43C three half minutes. Next, revealing probe would require separate measurements heating. designed fashioned trigonometric calculations allowed within 3mm spacing during ablation. Mice anesthetized treated ablation at 4.43. staining demonstrated clear evidence localized identifiable visible lesions on slides. successful development acquisition data coupled live model LITT proves our protocol is ready research therapeutic combinatorial effects tumor bearing mice.

Laser-induced interstitial thermotherapy (LITT) of liver lesions - technique and application data-clinical data
The liver plays a central role in the human metabolism and so represents one of the organ systems most often affected, especially by tumorous diseases. The group of colorectal carcinomas metastatically almost exclusively attacks this organ, which, according to studies by Weiss et al., can be attributed to the venous drainage of the intestines through the portal vein [1,2]. A large number of pri...

Purpose To demonstrate clinical findings and imaging criteria of side-effects and complications immediatly and delayed after the MR-guided LITT for the treatment of liver metastases. Material and methods In a time frame of 6 years 411 patients were prospectively treated with MR-guided LITT for liver metastases. Between June 1993 and March 1999 a total of 2440 laser applications were performed t...
متن کاملCT-guided laser probe for ablation of brain tumors
In this study, 22 patients (15-75 years old) were selected and transferred to CT scan for tumor ablation. For ablations, after prep and drep under the local anesthesia and mild sedation in proper position, small incision made and special needle inserted and guided by proper direction to the core of the tumor. Then, laser probe inserted through the needle and laser energy delivered. Although we ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Temperature Rise and Thermal Lesion Dimensions in Liver Laser Interstitial Thermotherapy
Introduction: Laser interstitial thermotherapy (LITT) is an internal ablation therapy method consisting of a percutaneous or intraoperative insertion of laser fibers directly into the liver tumor with maximum diameter of 5 cm. In this treatment method, there isn’t any general information about the relationship between increasing the exposure power, coagulation and carboniza...
